We Design Our Approach To Fit Your Case

Our team is able to tailor our methods to fit our clients’ needs. That means taking advantage of options like:

Aggressive litigation

Although arriving at a settlement in a family law case is usually the most productive and cost-effective approach, not all cases can be amicable. If your spouse is attempting to gain an unfair advantage, we’ll fight for your rights.

If you have been kept in the dark during the marriage, we will do everything within our power to be sure your spouse makes full disclosure of all assets and income from all sources.

If you are the high wage earner spouse, we will do everything within our power to be sure the support you pay to your spouse is not excessive and you are not taken to the cleaners in court or in the settlement.

In cases involving minor children, we make sure their best interests are our priority.

Mediation/private judge

Some cases are suited for alternative dispute resolution (ADR). ADR allows you to resolve your case privately without going through the court system.

There are a variety of methods: mediation, a process in which you and your spouse work with one neutral mediator; hiring a private judge to decide contested issues out of court; collaborative divorce, which involves retaining a team of professionals to guide you through the process, and divorce resolution method, which is designed to finalize your case within a set structure and a specific time frame.

When we meet to talk with you for the first time, we can walk through these options and see if one is the right fit.

Collaborative divorce

Another way to resolve your case outside of the court system is through collaborative divorce.

This process utilizes a team of trained professionals – an attorney for each spouse, a child therapist, a financial specialist and a coach for each spouse – in order to engage the divorce process in the most productive and positive manner possible.

Divorce Resolution Method (DRM)

The divorce resolution method is a process designed to assist parties through their dissolution of marriage proceedings from start to finish as swiftly, accurately and pain-free as possible. The DRM has been developed over a period of many years to alleviate the delays and cost of going through the court system.

This process allows you and your spouse to:

  1. Each be represented by an individual attorney
  2. Collectively retain one neutral attorney who will first act as a mediator and then act as a decider for any remaining contested issues
  3. Assuming you and your spouse commit to our process, the case will conclude in five sessions or fewer
We believe this method is the ideal response to our “post-COVID” courts, which are backlogged and reopening very slowly.

What Our Clients Say

“My dear friend, Cathy, recommended me to seek your advice on my prenuptial agreement. She is one of your satisfied clients … you represented her in her 2013 divorce. Also, I truly enjoy reading your statement on the website … very sincere and honest.”

“I interviewed six different attorneys. After meeting with Rich, I left the office saying, “that’s my guy” and never regretted the decision. His expertise and decisiveness gave me peace of mind at every dip of the roller coaster.”

“Rich Feuerstein and his staff are truly a pleasure to work with – even while working through a difficult divorce case. He came highly recommended to me and I am grateful that I hired him.”
